Our Story

The Berlin Woodworking Journey
Berlin Woodworking began over 35 years ago when Roman Keim started producing turnings for use by other manufacturers. Partnering with his son-in-law, Gary Troyer, they expanded the business to include the production of Queen Anne’s chairs. Over eight years, they refined these designs, creating models that were both elegant and efficiently crafted. As market demands evolved, they adapted by expanding their offerings to include popular chair styles such as Shaker, Scandinavian, and other traditional designs. They later introduced solid wood tables to complement their growing product line.
In 2002, Gary acquired ownership of the business. By 2023, his son Anthony joined as a partner, establishing Berlin Woodworking as a third-generation enterprise. The company’s success stems from its commitment to producing a focused range of high-quality products with precision and care.

Timeless Craftsmanship, Unique Designs, Sustainably Made.

Efficiency Without Compromise
Today, Berlin Woodworking emphasizes competitive pricing, short lead times, and exceptional service. By concentrating on a select range of items, they have honed their ability to manufacture these products efficiently. Lean manufacturing practices minimize waste, optimize productivity, and enable cost savings for their customers. To maintain this focus, the company has chosen to forgo custom work, catering instead to clients who value efficiency and affordability. Their Quick Ship program offers chairs with a two-week lead time.
Like many Amish-owned businesses, Berlin Woodworking prioritizes craftsmanship and a personal touch. Customers frequently praise the attentive service and the beauty of the furniture created for their homes.
